Abstrakt

On the basis of current discourses about antifeminism and anti-‘genderism’, the paper discusses how attacks against researchers of Women’s, Gender and Feminist Studies as well as against practitioners and activists can be countered. Firstly, we discuss attacks against gender studies inside academia. Secondly, we reflect modes of intervention in different journalistic public spheres. And thirdly, we assess possibilities of collaborations of gender scholars and activists. Based on specific researach projects and practical examples drawn from the experiences of the authors, reactions to different forms of antifeminist and anti-’genderist’ agitations and policies, as well as conditions and implications of an intersectional, anti-racist approach to activist engagement by academics are analyzed.
