The Balkan War was a conflict that provoked many parties to intervene. The war was also covered by a number of journalists, who carried out what we may call a “media intervention.” This article analyzes Welcome to Sarajevo, No Man’s Land, and The Hunting Party to demonstrate that it was the media and specifically journalists who drew the attention of the international community to the horrifying events that took place in the former Yugoslavia. Additionally, the article examines how the films brought the war to a personal level, thereby making the journalists direct participants in the chaos of conflict.
