Abstrakt

This article first embeds the thirty years old history of „L’Homme. Europäische Zeitschrift für Feministische Geschichtswissenschaft“ / L’Homme. European Journal for Feminist History“, initiated by well-known Austrian historian Edith Saurer in 1990, within a broader frame of similar journal foundations in the 1990ies. It then explains the chosen title “’L’Homme” and describes the changing concept, aims and contents of „L’Homme. Z. F. G.“, which not only includes historical articles (often translated from other European languages), but also comments on contemporary questions of feminism and debates on gender inequality. The journal and its accompanying book series, the “L’Homme-Schriften’, actually are edited by 18 European scholars from 8 countries – thus indeed representing a common European publication project.
