¿La voz del hombre nuevo?: Masculinidad y Nueva Canción Chilena

Abstrakt

The hypothesis of this paper argues that the Chilean New Song not only reproduced, but also participated in the construction of a left-wing hegemonic masculinity in the Chilean context of the sixties and seventies, even when alternative gender constructions eventually existed within the movement. To support this hypothesis, the article examines both the conformation and the masculinized performance of the movement, especially with regard to its vocal proposal.
